Latin Name – Boswellia Carterii  (most often used)

Frankincense has a soft woodsy smell and it is very comforting to me.

During ancient times, it was known to be worth more than gold, only the rich could afford to use it.

This Essential Oil is used as a middle-top note oil in blending.

It is steam distilled from the resin of the Boswellia Sacre tree.

One of the top three worlds best skin healers! The other two are Lavender and Helichrysum.

Frankincense is an:  expectorant, anti-depressant, immunostimulant, anti-tumoral to list a few of its active qualities!

It is a wonderful oil to use in a blend!  It is said to kick your blend up another notch, so to speak!

Try using  for the following:

  • skin care
  • to rejuvenate damaged skin
  • respiratory aid                                                               
  • clearing mucus
  • helping infections
  • irritated skin
  • inflammation
  • headaches
  • special blends for children/very safe

You can find over 52 references to this oil in the Bible, and it was considered the “holy anointing oil” in those times.

Due to the fact it was so expensive, burning Frankincense was often used as a means to demonstrate a persons wealth. Emporer Nero burned the entire yearly harvest of Frankincense at the burial ceremony of his favorite concubine.
